The International Standards Board for Qualified Patent Information Specialists (ISBQPIP) has granted accreditation for a newly-created series of short webinar sessions, covering the whole field of legal status information. The accreditation number is MAG20201214-01.
Over four 1.5 hour sessions, the course will cover:
1. What is legal status information? Insight from the bibliographic record and other quasi-legal sources.
2. Use of specialist manual and electronic sources for definitive legal status.
3. Additional tools to interpret legal status changes, including progress through patent prosecution and the PCT system.
4. Legal status from the civil courts and other tribunals.
The course can be run for a single client (unlimited attendance for one course fee) or as a public course with a per-person registration fee.

The School for Information periodically hosts the Basic Patent Information Course (BPIC), with content prepared under the oversight of the Dutch patent information user group, the WON (Werkgemeenschap Octrooi-informatie Nederland). Modules on patent classification, full text searching and citation searching are delivered by Magister Ltd.
