About Magister Ltd
Magister Ltd. is an independent consultancy founded in the UK by Stephen Adams, which provides a range of services to the scientific and technical information community. Our primary activities are concentrated in the field of patents documentation.
Magister Ltd: the trainer
The name "Magister" was chosen for the company from its foundation; the Latin word means "Trainer" or "Mentor", someone skilled in the art and able to guide others. The word-mark Magister ® has been registered as a trade mark in the United Kingdom (GB 2319447).
"Magister" was also the name given to a 1930s training aircraft built by Miles Aircraft Ltd., located in Woodley, near Reading, where Magister Ltd. was founded in 1997. Miles Aircraft have an interesting history in technical innovation, holding many patents during the 1930s-1950s.
